Groundhog Day is a text-based video game made using the Twine software. The game emulates the experience of going down a Wikipedia-like rabbit hole of pages ranging from the Minotaur to NASCAR. The aim for the player is to fill in the missing pieces of the pages they come across, using varying descriptors given to them based on their perception of the stories told. Eventually, the player uncovers the personal history of the person who originally constructed (and abandoned) the database. The game is a commentary on how perception, memory, and language alter and give weight to historical records—whether those records be public or private.
